1:76 Dc & 1:120 Dx Test prints

1:76 Dc & 1:120 Dx Test prints, pushing the capabilities of the printer somewhat, at least with 1:76 the detail can render properly. It still requires a bit of sanding but am so far happy with the result. The Dx while technically possible requires a few tweeks to the overall thickness, especially around the cab. I still think it can be done. Will offer up the 1:76 stuff to the trademe crowd

The chassis in the background was from a dcc dash 9, the body was removed in the hopes of converting it into a DL to offer up. will see if it will take a 1:76 shell without looking silly.

1:76 Dc in the early stages of a 1 day print, The intent first came to me at 5 in the morning and in the rush to find a design, scale it & remove unnecessary detail forgot that working cab doors should have at lest been attempted.

1:24 Seats

Making a drivers seat is next on the list, I don't have exact dimensions but the dimensions are based on my 1:24 people. It swivels and the backrest tilts like the real thing.

Seeing double

Going with the trend of posting pictures of model loco's on the running board of larger model loco's here's a few I had on hand from my nz120 & 1:24 fleet. The models originated from the same 3d design with exception to the pictured below nz120 dx, df & dft.
It takes more than twice as long to place all the wheels on the track in nz120, after looking at the 1:24 version trying to focus on a detail in nz120 is difficult to say the least.
An idea i had was to wire up the N track and run both back n forth at the same time for a video, may try it.

1:24 Fs 50' Steam Van

Although I don't yet have any 56'ers painted up in the northerner livery yet, I couldn't help but print off a 1:24 Fs 50' Steam Van.
Still riding a bit high. Needs a bit more sanding but its early days yet.
